What is a Tile-Relay

What is it?

Tile re-felting is the process of replacing the underlayment material—typically roofing felt—beneath your roof tiles. While roof tiles are designed to last for decades, the felt beneath them has a shorter lifespan and so this process is necessary to maintain proper protection for every tile roof.

Why Should I get it?

Re-felting replaces worn underlayment with a fresh, high-quality waterproof layer, protecting your home while allowing you to reuse your existing tiles. The result is a roof that looks the same but performs far better-extending its lifespan, preventing expensive damage, and giving you peace of mind that your home is safe and secure for years to come.

The Process

Careful Tile Removal – We gently remove your existing roof tiles to access the underlayment. The best part? Most tiles are still in excellent condition and can be reused, saving you money while keeping your home’s look intact.
Old Felt Removal – We remove the worn-out felt that’s no longer protecting your home, exposing the roof decking so we can give your roof a fresh start.
Decking Inspection & Repairs – Before moving forward, we carefully inspect the decking for any damage. If repairs are needed, we handle them right away to ensure your roof has a solid foundation.

Titanium PSU30

Titanium PSU30® is a high-temperature, self-adhered modified asphalt reinforced underlayment that seals around nail penetrations and provides a durable secondary water barrier, protecting against ice dams and wind-driven rain.

CITADEL® PLUS SELF-ADHERED BASE SHEET

Citadel® Plus SBS modified asphalt core self-seals around nail or screw penetrations when mechanically fixing roofing. Seals to the roof deck providing additional security against potential leaks compared to mechanically fastened base sheets.
